Race weekend 1

This year throughout my partner’s racing season, my goal is to finish one painting every race weekend.

This weekend was extremely wet, quite cold, and fairly miserable. I struggled with long dry times with my paper, my paints, and my brushes. My final result came out a little water-logged, and muddier than intended.

But it’s only the first weekend! I’m already learning which tools to leave at home, and which to add to my bag. Another somewhat painful lesson from this weekend: I forgot to clean out my palette before traveling. 😱 It was 30+ long minutes and several filthy rags before I had a palette clean enough for mixing on. I won’t make that mistake twice!
