I took a sketchbook (of course!) to an amateur race this past weekend, and happened to snag a seat in the pit with a near-perfect angle on a beautiful custom-built hillclimb car!
Media: Noodler’s “Bulletproof” black ink in TWSBI Eco pen with F nib; Leuchtturm sketchbook paper.

My view was slightly obstructed by tanks of mystery fluid, but I didn’t mind much. Elements like that add to the scene, I think; they turn it into a real “urban sketch” by allowing some of the non-curated environment creep in.
Unfortunately, I started to get rained on 3/4 through the inking, so I was forced to leave before the ink was properly dry. The final piece which I gave to the car’s owner had become a little smudged, and it kept its pencil underdrawing. He still seemed to appreciate it though 🙂
